Tekla Structural Designer- How to Check Punching Shear of Columns Punching Shear Design

Tekla Structural Designer is advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building.In Tekla, we can do the detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures we can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software.  We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other software.

Let’s follow the steps to Check the Punching Shear of Columns.               

Step 1

First of all, we will open our building model which had a flat slab and all the loading have been applied and designed.

Now we will apply punching shear checks in this structure for that we will go to our first slab level after that we can go to the design tab and then click to the punching shear option.

So for applying the punching shear, we can either select a particular column or we can even select two columns at once by dragging after doing that we can analyze the model once again and then go to design and click on design punching shear and now results will be visible.

Now to check for a particular punching shear then right-click on it and then go to check to punch shear option and now we have the results. Now in this, we have some warnings, in this, we have to increase the slab thickness but we will provide column drop here and after providing column drop got to design and Design all static and do design punching shear and after that right-click and see the result we can see all are safe here.
