How to design Eccentric footing in TSD

Tekla Structural Designer is an advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software. We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other softwares .

Let’s go step by step to know how to design Eccentric footing in TSD.

Step 1

As we can see the model is fully loaded. For applying footings, we will just select the pad based column and then we will just apply the pad bases.

Now, let’s go to the foundation view, select the two pad bases and in the properties option we have various things but we will change the eccentricity. After changing the eccentricity, the footings have moved. Then, we will go to the 3D structure and select the foundation and then click on design pad bases. After clicking the pad bases. Pad bases have been designed and if you want to see the drawings then just go to the foundation view then go to the design and just click on the foundation layout and click on ok. Now we can view foundation drawings which will be opening in the autocad.

So as we can see the foundation drawings are opened in the autocad and here we can check the depth, sizes and the reinforcement details of the foundation and it has been designed as per the British code. So, by this we can design Eccentric footing.
