Why do you need to get to your 3D Building Model Done before construction of your house?

Often you get to hear that your friend or colleague is making a 3D model of his/her house. Let’s know why they choose to do so. Any person prepares a 3D model of a house to know how his/her house will look after construction. While making a 3D model you can know whatever you are thinking in your mind is possible or not.

One can also make changes as many times as he wants in the 3D model of his dream house. Think of a situation when you have made your building and you don’t like that design after construction. Like that was looking good in your imagination but now that’s failing to catch your house. Now you will have just two options. Either you live with that unsatisfactory design for the rest of our life or you make changes in your already constructed house. Both these options are certainly not good. And this is where the 3D model of the house comes into play. You can also decide whether you are looking better than what’s already in your neighbourhood. Now the question is, whether choosing to make a 3D model from any architecture or consultancy firm is a wise decision or not. So, I will suggest you to go the professional way if your budget allows it. And more importantly if you want a house that looks modern and not like those houses with plain walls on all four sides.

I have saved the gem for the last. When it comes to budget then let me tell you a secret. If you will make a 3D model of your house then you will have the proper dimension of all your designs and so your mason will finish your construction work in less time and that too with more accuracy. It will also save the time for the wastage of design material. In addition to that 3D model will tell you which material you are going to use in your design. So, you can easily calculate project cost and then you can easily decide whether it is in your budget or not.

Tekla structural Designer VS ETABS.

Tekla Structural Designer is advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla, we can do the detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software.  We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other software. Let’s see the difference between TSD and ETABS. Step 1 As per the modelling aspects in ETABS we can import the grid lines we cannot import the shadow of an architectural drawing and in Tekla, we can import grid lines as well as the shadow of an architectural drawing assigning beams and columns is very easy and the modelling becomes quick.  In ETABS we cannot see the extruded view easily but in TSD we can see the extruded view easily. Basically, visualization is easy in TSD as compared to ETABS.   Step 2 In TSD load application is very easy as the dead load and live load both are almost same but in the wind...

What are TOF, SSL, & TOS in Tekla structural designer ?

Tekla structural designer (TSD) is a simple, integrated design & analysis software that gives engineers the power to analyze and design buildings efficiently and profitably. Pile foundation as two parts likely pile cap and pile, here in TSD we can design the pile cap but not the pile. TOF (Top of foundation), TOS (Top of steel), SSL (Structural slab level) are the terms in TSD software which are used while creating levels. Refer the below steps we will know about TOF , SSL & TOS  : Step 1 Go to TSD software and click on construction levels, under that section you will come across the type of level being designed, likely TOF, TOS, & SSL.     TOF: Top of foundation is a level which is helpful for placing foundation, plinth level and helps in excavation work identification also. TOS: Top of steel (level) takes a major part while you are working with the steel structures, composite structures or else steel structure completely, so in these cases you can mak...

Difference Between Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer

NTRODUCTION: Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer both are Software Developed by Trimble, some of the major differences between the two software are as Follows. 1. USAGE: The following are the primary differences between the two software based on their usage and the final product generated. TEKLA STRUCTURAL DESIGNER (TSD) is a  Structural Analysis & Design Software, it is used for structural analysis and design of all structural members after the application of loads (Eg. Live Load, Dead Load, Wind Load, Seismic Load etc.) as per the standard code provisions, varying with the location of construction of building. TEKLA STRUCTURES (TS) is a   Structural Detailing & Building Information Modelling (BIM) Software, it can be used for creating detailed model after we have the Structural design results. After finishing the BIM Model, a section can be cut from any Plane to generate Good For Construction Drawings (GEC) with detailing of rebar specifying the...
