How to perform Interactive Design of Columns in TSD

Tekla Structural Designer is an advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software. We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other softwares .

Let’s follow the steps to know how to do interactive design in TSD:

Step 1

First of all we will select any member from our model like we will take a column and then we can right click on it and then we will go to our design member static. Now you can see the details of the member as shown in fig.1, information like Section, Longitudinal Bars , Analysis, Combination etc . To change this information we will just right click on the model or column and then we will simply go to Interactive Design and static. Then you will be able to see the column specifications like upto plinth level , ground floor to first floor.

Now we will go to the c1-2 i.e ground level to plinth level you will see that we have the size of the column so let’s see what the result will be if we change the size . After changing you will find that the section fails when we change the section . Next if you increase the size i.e 250 x 300 you will see the changes in orientation.

Step 3

Next you will see in fig .2 we have some markings over the section , from the principal bar size i.e of 16mm so we have 4 nos of bars at the corners and 12mm intermediate bar you can see we have in between 1-4 & 2-3 & you can also see we haven’t provided any bars between 1-2 & 4-3 .

So like this you can change the interactive design in TSD.

How to Reset the Windows Layout/Missing Properties Bar in Tekla Structural Designer

Any User of Tekla Structural Designer or any other software is used to the default format that is present while you install the software, the same is in the case of WIndows Layout in Tekla Structural Designer.
