PLUMB BOB:USAGE IN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

 A plumb bob is a weight that is used to find the center of gravity in order to provide builders with a true vertical line: the plumb line.

  • Plumb bobs are frequently used in construction when you need to find a                       vertical line.

  • Formwork, plastering work, beam work or casting of columns can be used to check whether the vertical level of structure is straight or not.

  • It consists of weight (the plumb) hanging at the end of a strong string of 3-4ft in length.

  • It consists of a weight which is attached to one end of the string.

  • The other end of the string is attached to a holder, which is used to hold it at a particular head.

  • The main and most important component of the plumb bob is the string which is strong and 3-4ft of length.

  • It can be used to move certain measures from one point to another.

  • The main purpose of plumb bob is to avoid improper lines and maintain straight lines while construction.
