Tekla Structural Designer is an advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software. We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other softwares .
As we know TSD is a structure analysis and design software and Revit Structures is a detailing software .
So let’s go step by step to know how to import a building model from TSD to Revit Structures.
Step 1
So for exporting a TSD file into revit software we will have to go to the home option and there we can find one option of BIM Integration and then we will have one Revit export option we will choose that and next option will be your origin keep that 0,0 and click on next and then you can select the options that you want to export like levels, grids, slabs, members, walls foundation and even we can export the analysis result also.
Step 2
Then click on next and you can see the concrete grade then click on next select the option of first time export and then save the file.
Step 3
Before importing the file in Revit software we will need one particular software i.e Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Autodesk Revit . For downloading this software you must have a Trimble account . After downloading you can open your Revit structures and open a new file so for opening a new file go to the Architecture option and select a Metric structural template and then click on ok and then you can see a new file has been created in revit .
Step 4
Next step is to select Tekla integration and integrator structural designer and one interface will come for importing select next and then click on first time import and then click on next than select the file that you want to export and select the things that you want to import like levels, grids, slabs, members, walls foundation then click on next you will see the grade of concrete has not recognized for that click on advance and select concrete in situ then click on finish. It will take some time and you will see it is imported.
Step 5
Now for the 3D Model we will have to go to the view and select the 3D view and you can see the default 3D view and you can do the detailing there.
So like this you can Export the file into Revit software.
